- Spread softened butter over one side of each slice of bread, sprinkle garlic powder and Italian seasoning on the buttered side.
- On the unbuttered side of one slice, spread marinara sauce, layer mozzarella cheese, Parmesan, and toppings, then place the second slice on top.
- Preheat a non-stick skillet on medium-low heat and place the sandwich in once hot, aiming for a sizzle.
- Cook for 3–4 minutes until golden brown, then flip to cook the other side.
- Remove when both sides are golden and cheese is melted, let cool, and slice in half.
