Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium heat for about 5–7 minutes until browned. Drain excess fat and transfer to the crockpot.
  2. Sauté diced yellow onion and minced garlic in the same skillet for about 3 minutes until soft, then add to the crockpot with beef.
  3. Add chopped green bell pepper, drained kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce to the crockpot. Sprinkle the spices in.
  4. Gently stir to mix all ingredients, and adjust seasoning to taste.
  5. Cover and cook on low for 6–8 hours or on high for 3–4 hours. Stir occasionally if possible.
