Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a skillet over medium heat, add the breakfast sausage, breaking it apart. Cook for about 7-10 minutes until browned, then drain excess grease.
  2. Incorporate the finely chopped onion into the skillet and sauté for around 3-5 minutes until translucent, then remove from heat.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked sausage and onion with the other ingredients and mix thoroughly.
  4. Shape the mixture into small balls or patties and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Chill for 30 minutes if desired.
  5. Heat vegetable oil in a skillet over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
  6. Carefully add the shaped appetizers to the hot oil in batches, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side.
  7. Transfer fried appetizers to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil.
