Step-by-Step Instructions for Caramel Apple Trifles
  1. Combine 1 cup of sugar and 1/4 cup of water in a saucepan over medium-low heat. Stir until the sugar dissolves. Increase heat to medium and bubble for 5-7 minutes until deep amber. Add 6 tablespoons of butter and 1/2 cup of heavy cream, whisk continuously until smooth. Set aside to cool.
  2. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Combine 1 cup of rolled oats, 3/4 cup of flour, 1/2 cup of brown sugar, and 1/2 cup of melted butter until crumbly. Spread evenly on a baking sheet and bake for 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  3. In clear glass cups or jars, add a layer of caramel mousse, drizzle caramel sauce, sprinkle apple crumble, layer diced apples. Repeat and finish with caramel mousse on top.
