Method
 

Preparation Steps
  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together egg, milk, sugar, flour, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt until well combined.
  2. Lightly crush the cereal in a zip-top bag or with a rolling pin and pour it into a shallow dish.
  3. Slice the thick bread into generous pieces, then dunk each slice into the prepared batter and coat in crushed cereal.
  4. Heat a skillet over medium heat, add butter, and once melted, place the coated bread slices in the skillet. Fry for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  5. Serve warm topped with mixed berries, powdered sugar, and a drizzle of maple syrup.
