- In a large bowl, combine all marinade ingredients including garlic, soy sauce, and brown sugar. Cut the chicken into bite-sized pieces and add to the marinade. Mix well and let it marinate for 30 minutes.
- Crack the egg into a separate mixing bowl and beat it until smooth. Drain excess marinade from the chicken, then dip each piece into the beaten egg.
- Transfer the egg-coated chicken pieces to a bowl filled with cornstarch and toss gently until fully coated.
- In a wok or deep frying pan, heat enough vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F.
- Carefully add the chicken to the hot oil in batches and fry for 4-5 minutes until golden brown. Place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
