Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prepare two thick slices of sourdough bread, each about ½ inch thick.
  2. Chop dill pickles into small pieces and pat dry with a paper towel.
  3. Slice the dill havarti cheese into ¼-inch thick slabs.
  4. Layer half the cheese on one slice of bread, followed by the chopped pickles, then top with the remaining cheese.
  5. Butter the exterior sides of both sandwich slices generously.
  6. Preheat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and place the sandwich in the pan.
  7. Cook the sandwich for 4-5 minutes until golden brown, then flip and cook for another 3-4 minutes.
  8. Add dill pickle chips inside the sandwich while it's warm, then close it.
  9. Cut the sandwich diagonally and serve immediately.
