Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil. Add the spaghetti or fettuccine and cook for 8-10 minutes until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for 2-3 minutes until golden and fragrant.
  3. Stir in diced tomatoes, seasoning with salt and pepper. Simmer for about 5 minutes until tomatoes soften and release juices.
  4. Lower heat and pour in heavy cream, stirring for 2-3 minutes until well combined and warmed.
  5. Add cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to coat with the sauce. Heat for another minute.
  6. Serve pasta garnished with fresh basil and optionally sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
