Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Prep Chicken: Season the chicken thighs or breasts with salt and pepper, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium-high heat in a large pot, add chicken and sauté for 6-8 minutes until golden brown, then remove and set aside.
  2. Make Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same pot, add an additional tablespoon of butter, melt over medium heat, add minced garlic, sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant, then stir in crushed red pepper flakes.
  3. Build the Sauce: Pour in chicken broth, scrape the bottom to deglaze, stir in heavy cream, simmer while stirring occasionally until creamy.
  4. Cook Tortellini: Add tortellini and stir gently, cook for 4-6 minutes until tender.
  5. Combine & Finish: Return sautéed chicken to the pot, stir in Parmesan cheese, cook for another 2-3 minutes until heated through.
  6. Garnish & Serve: Remove from heat, stir in fresh herbs, serve hot garnished with additional Parmesan and pepper.
