Step-by-Step Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of lean ground beef with 1 diced onion for about 5-7 minutes.
- Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup of milk or beef broth, and 1 teaspoon of paprika, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- In the greased baking dish, combine the cooked rice, beef and onion mixture, and half of the cheese. Pour the prepared sauce over the top and gently stir.
- Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the casserole, cover with foil, and bake for 20 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is golden.
- Broil for 2 minutes if you want a crispier finish.
- Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving, optionally garnished with chopped parsley.

Notes
Ensure rice is pre-cooked to avoid a mushy texture. Freshly grated cheese offers better melting and flavor. Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
