Method
 

Step-by-Step Instructions
  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, brown 1 pound of lean ground beef with 1 diced onion for about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Stir in 2 minced garlic cloves and sauté for another 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together 1 can of cream of mushroom soup, 1 cup of milk or beef broth, and 1 teaspoon of paprika, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. In the greased baking dish, combine the cooked rice, beef and onion mixture, and half of the cheese. Pour the prepared sauce over the top and gently stir.
  6. Sprinkle the remaining cheese evenly over the casserole, cover with foil, and bake for 20 minutes.
  7. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the cheese is golden.
  8. Broil for 2 minutes if you want a crispier finish.
  9. Let the casserole rest for a few minutes before serving, optionally garnished with chopped parsley.
