Step‑by‑Step Instructions
  1. Prepare Pastry Cream: Warm milk in a saucepan, whisk together egg yolks, sugar, salt, vanilla bean paste, and cornstarch. Combine and cook until thickened, then stir in butter and refrigerate.
  2. Make Cookie Dough: Preheat oven to 350°F. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt in one bowl. Cream butter and sugar, add egg and vanilla bean paste, then blend in dry ingredients.
  3. Shape Cookies: Form dough balls and roll in sugar. Place on baking sheets and flatten slightly.
