- Combine the softened unsalted butter, minced garlic, and chopped fresh parsley in a small bowl. Mix until smooth.
- Slice the Cuban bread in half horizontally and spread the garlic butter mixture on the cut sides.
- On one slice of bread, spread a thin layer of yellow mustard evenly.
- Layer the smoked ham, salami or roasted pork, pickle slices, and cheese on top of the mustard.
- Place the other slice of bread on top, with the buttered side facing out, and press gently.
- Preheat a cast iron skillet over medium heat for about 3–5 minutes.
- Grill the sandwiches for 3–4 minutes on one side, applying pressure, then flip and grill the other side for another 3–4 minutes.
- Remove the sandwiches from the skillet and let them rest for about 1 minute. Slice in half and serve warm.
